Cycling NWT is excited to host a HopOn Instructor Course in Yellowknife this August. The exact location will be announced soon.
HopOn is Cycling Canada’s national learn-to-ride program, providing a fun, safe, and consistent way to teach cycling skills to children, youth, and adults across Canada. The program is delivered by Cycling Canada’s Provincial and Territorial Sport Organizations and focuses on building confidence, fundamental cycling skills, and a lifelong love of riding.
Whether you’re a coach, teacher, recreation leader, volunteer, camp instructor, or simply passionate about cycling, becoming a HopOn Instructor is a great way to help grow the sport in the Northwest Territories.

Why Become a HopOn Instructor?
As a HopOn Instructor, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to deliver fun, engaging, and safe cycling programs in your community. The training provides practical teaching strategies and lesson plans that can be used in schools, camps, recreation programs, after-school activities, and community events.
By increasing the number of certified instructors across the Northwest Territories, we can expand cycling opportunities and introduce more people to the joy of riding a bike.
Can’t Attend?
If you’re interested in becoming a HopOn Instructor but aren’t available on August 28 and 29, please reach out. If there is enough interest, Cycling NWT will explore offering another course during the week. Send an e-mail to info@cyclingnwt.ca
