Yellowknife riders rolled into Event #2 of the 2025 Fatbike Race Series with big smiles, good energy, and perfect November weather. Tin Can Hill delivered another beautiful course, winding through snow covered single track that kept things fast, technical, and fun.
The turnout was amazing once again, with riders of all ages taking on the challenge. Laughter at the start line, cheers from volunteers, and that familiar crunch of fatbike tires on packed snow set the tone for a great afternoon.
On the competitive side, we saw strong performances across all categories. Thomsen D’Hont took the win in the Open Male 10 km division with a combined time of 33:12, followed by Chris Bruckner and Jacob Shank. In the Open Female 10 km, Adrienne Schmalz led the way with a solid ride of 52:05, while Greg Krysko and Dinah Elliott topped the 5 km categories with confident single lap finishes. Full results are available below.
Beyond the times and standings, what stood out most was the community. New faces joined returning riders, kids cheered for parents, and volunteers kept everything running smoothly. It is exactly the kind of day that reminds us why we love building cycling in the North.
With momentum growing, we are excited to welcome even more riders to future events. Whether you are racing, riding for fun, or cheering from the trail side, there is a place for you in this series.
The next race is coming up soon, and we would love to see the community continue to grow. Grab your bike, your warm layers, and your sense of adventure. Winter riding season is only getting better.
