Girls Belong in the Game – Let’s #GetGirlCoached

At Cycling NWT, we believe in building a sport culture that listens to, learns from, and supports girls and young women across the territory.

That’s why we’re proud to support Canadian Women & Sport’s national campaign, Get Girl Coached, which challenges sport organizations, coaches, and leaders to design inclusive, girl centered spaces in sport. Far too many girls leave sport by age 17, but when we create environments where they feel seen, heard, and supported, they’re more likely to stay in the game.

Through our programming, whether it’s HopOn, local races, or school based movement initiatives, we’re committed to:

  • Coaching for Her – adapting how we support girls in ways that build confidence, connection, and motivation
  • Designing for Her – creating programs and events where girls feel safe, capable, and welcome
  • Investing in Her – amplifying girl led initiatives, mentorship, and leadership opportunities

We’re also working with local athletes and schools to launch small, meaningful projects through our Girls & Women in Sport Mini Grants, designed to support NWT youth in leading inclusive, empowering sport experiences.
