Cycling in the Spotlight: NWT Events Featured in Local Newspapers

Cycling in the Northwest Territories continues to gain traction, and recognition. This week, both The Hub (Hay River) and the Yellowknifer (Yellowknife) featured stories on recent cycling events, highlighting the strength and spirit of our growing community.

More than 40 riders took part in the annual YK2HR ride, making the 500 km journey from Yellowknife to the Hay River Community Centre. Riders faced weather, wildlife, and winding roads, but they also experienced community, resilience, and the power of movement.

Meanwhile, Cycling NWT hosted its first Territorial Mountain Bike Championship along the Ingraham Trail. This event also served as an unofficial Canada Games qualifier, bringing together top athletes and supporters from across the North.

These stories showcase more than just results, they celebrate the people, passion, and places that make cycling in the North so special. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and grow the cycling movement in the NWT!
